A guide disguised as a game
Live Beyond takes the world’s most advanced longevity science — gathered from more than 100 of its leading minds — and turns it into a game you can start playing today: the moves that add healthy, energetic years, and the joy to fill them.
It opens as a story: a father and his teenage son crossing 5 continents and 39 countries and states in search of a longer, better life. We learned from the Blue Zones of Okinawa, sat with scientists at Stanford, Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, MIT and NUS, and travelled to the longevity hubs of Boston, San Francisco, New York, Singapore and Shanghai. That quest is the book’s beating heart.
But at its core, Live Beyond is a guide. As I write on the first page: “This is a guide to the Longevity Game — one that will help you become the best player you can be.”
Every day you make choices that either extend or shorten your life. Learn the rules. Be a player. Start winning the game.
The wisdom of more than 100 of the world’s leading scientists is distilled into clear, do-it-on-Monday practices: a Player’s Toolkit, quick Insight Boosts, and the Longevity Map that runs from the foundations of mindset, food, movement and sleep, through modern therapies, to the frontier of radical life extension — with prevention as the golden thread, and a final level: turning players into a movement.
Read it your way: skip ahead, circle back, linger where curiosity pulls you. The point isn’t to finish with every answer, but to leave with momentum — the feeling that you, too, can step into the game.
We made this journey around the world so you don’t have to. You can simply learn from what we learned — and we keep on researching, so the guide only grows.
Why a game
Behind this book stand some of the world’s very best longevity scientists and doctors — the people genuinely moving the field forward — and their science is sound, current and carefully checked. Reaching all of them across 39 countries and states, and earning their trust, was its own improbable feat. That hard-won access is what makes this book real.
Yet the people who most need this science aren’t researchers. They’re regular people who assume longevity is too complex, too clinical, or simply not for them. The Longevity Game is how we lower that wall — turning world-class research into something a reader thinks: OK, I can understand this. I can do this. The rigour stays intact; the fear falls away.
How it plays
The whole book runs on game mechanics, a language readers already know. It never talks down; it invites you to play. The Player’s Toolkit holds the concrete moves that anchor daily life in vitality. Insight Boosts are short bursts of context that illuminate the science without overwhelming. And the NPCs are a knowing nod to those stuck in old scripts of decline — not to mock, but to show how culture shapes how we age.
