A guide disguised as a game

Live Beyond takes the world’s most advanced longevity science — gathered from more than 100 of its leading minds — and turns it into a game you can start playing today: the moves that add healthy, energetic years, and the joy to fill them.

It opens as a story: a father and his teenage son crossing 5 continents and 39 countries and states in search of a longer, better life. We learned from the Blue Zones of Okinawa, sat with scientists at Stanford, Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, MIT and NUS, and travelled to the longevity hubs of Boston, San Francisco, New York, Singapore and Shanghai. That quest is the book’s beating heart.

But at its core, Live Beyond is a guide. As I write on the first page: “This is a guide to the Longevity Game — one that will help you become the best player you can be.”

Every day you make choices that either extend or shorten your life. Learn the rules. Be a player. Start winning the game.

The wisdom of more than 100 of the world’s leading scientists is distilled into clear, do-it-on-Monday practices: a Player’s Toolkit, quick Insight Boosts, and the Longevity Map that runs from the foundations of mindset, food, movement and sleep, through modern therapies, to the frontier of radical life extension — with prevention as the golden thread, and a final level: turning players into a movement.

Read it your way: skip ahead, circle back, linger where curiosity pulls you. The point isn’t to finish with every answer, but to leave with momentum — the feeling that you, too, can step into the game.

We made this journey around the world so you don’t have to. You can simply learn from what we learned — and we keep on researching, so the guide only grows.

Why a game

Behind this book stand some of the world’s very best longevity scientists and doctors — the people genuinely moving the field forward — and their science is sound, current and carefully checked. Reaching all of them across 39 countries and states, and earning their trust, was its own improbable feat. That hard-won access is what makes this book real.

Yet the people who most need this science aren’t researchers. They’re regular people who assume longevity is too complex, too clinical, or simply not for them. The Longevity Game is how we lower that wall — turning world-class research into something a reader thinks: OK, I can understand this. I can do this. The rigour stays intact; the fear falls away.

How it plays

The whole book runs on game mechanics, a language readers already know. It never talks down; it invites you to play. The Player’s Toolkit holds the concrete moves that anchor daily life in vitality. Insight Boosts are short bursts of context that illuminate the science without overwhelming. And the NPCs are a knowing nod to those stuck in old scripts of decline — not to mock, but to show how culture shapes how we age.

Live Beyond, open. The book is written to be read in any order and used, not finished.
What is inside

Six things, and the one that matters most.

The sentence I most want a reader to say is not that was interesting. It is oh, I can understand this. The science in here is real and current and checked by the people who did it — and it is written so that nobody needs a degree to use it. Read it in any order you like.

The Longevity Map

The whole field on one page — three levels, the bridge of prevention across all of them, and a fifth move that turns players into a movement. It anchors every chapter, and it is in the film too, so a reader and a viewer are navigating the same world.

The Player’s Toolkit

The concrete moves. Not principles — things to do on Monday, drawn from what more than 100 scientists and doctors actually told us when the cameras were on.

Insight Boosts

Short bursts of context that explain why a move works, without a paragraph of biochemistry. Power-ups for understanding, and where most of the science in the book lives.

Rituals

The small repeatable things that turn a good intention into an ordinary Tuesday. A habit is the mechanism by which everything else in this book becomes a life rather than a plan.

Recovery kits

For the days it goes wrong, because they come. Nothing in this book tells you that you failed — a missed day is a day not played, and the kit is how you start the next one.

The NPCs

A knowing nod to the people still living an old script about decline. Not to mock them: to show how much of how we age is decided by the culture around us rather than by biology.

Choose your level

Five levels, and the bridge across all of them.

  • 01Foundations of LongevityMindset & purpose, nutrition, movement, sleep — the fundamentals that cost almost nothing and change everything.
  • 02Biohacking UpgradesRepair, supplementation, pharma, emotional breakthroughs and beauty-span — the enhancements that keep you in the game.
  • 03Radical Life ExtensionGene and cell therapies, reprogramming, cryonics — the frontier that is no longer science fiction.
  • 04The Bridge of PreventionScreening, genomics, imaging, biomarkers — the golden thread across every level, so nothing stupid takes you out of the game.
  • 05Creating the MovementCulture, advocacy, communication — turning players into a movement, so longevity grows for everyone.

The forewords come from the field itself.

“We’ve been given the gift of life. Our body is the vehicle for it — and I perceive taking care of our health as a personal duty.”

“A grounded entry point into longevity science as it is practiced, rather than as it is often portrayed. It encourages curiosity without certainty, and interest without exaggeration.”

Why I wrote it

From a napkin sketch to a mission.

First, I want to inspire hundreds of millions of people to change their lives — for the better, for longer, for healthier. Second, I want to help grow the longevity field and the movement around it, so that regular people start demanding more from governments, institutions and businesses.

What matters most is that this project belongs to the people actually making longevity a reality: the scientists, the doctors, the experts. That is why the book is built on more than 100 interviews with them.

And beneath all of it is something simple and personal. I want as much time as possible with the people I love — and above all with my son.

If you’re lucky enough to walk this path with someone you love, hold them close. That’s the best longevity hack I know.

One story, two screens

The book and the film are launching together.

The Longevity Map lives in both, so readers and viewers navigate the same world. Live Beyond: Father and Son on a Quest for Longevity is 98% finished, with a festival premiere planned for early 2027 and streaming to follow. The plan is to release the book alongside the film so each amplifies the other.
